The 10 times table on this page lists every fact from 10 × 1 to 10 × 12, with each answer shown, and lets you practice it on screen or print a worksheet. It runs in your web browser, is free, and needs no account or sign-up. Nothing you enter is uploaded.

The learning view is the default. It shows the table in large type with the ones digit of every answer highlighted, plus a counting-by-10s row. The practice quiz and the printable worksheet both use only the 10 times table, so you can focus on one fact family at a time.

The page covers 10 × 1 to 10 × 12 by default, and Times table goes up to extends the table to × 15 or × 20.

How to use the 10 Times Table

  1. Open the page. The learning view appears first and shows 10 × 1 to 10 × 12.
  2. Under “Times table goes up to”, choose × 10, × 12 (the default), × 15 or × 20.
  3. Choose a Mode, or click “Practice on screen” to start the quiz.
  4. Under “Question type”, choose Multiplication, Missing factor, Division, or A mix of all three.
  5. Set “Number of questions” (10, 20, 30, 50, or Keep going until I stop) and “Countdown timer” (No timer, 30 seconds, 1, 2 or 5 minutes).
  6. Type each answer in the box and press Enter or the Check button. Tick “Check as soon as I have typed enough digits” if you want answers checked automatically.
  7. For a worksheet, click “Printable worksheet”. Set “Worksheet type”, “Problems”, “Columns” and “Blanks”.
  8. Tick “Include both orders” and “Include answer key” as needed, then choose a paper size under Paper.
  9. Click “Print or save as PDF”.

Enter a title in “Title on the sheet” if you want one printed at the top. “New worksheet” gives a different random set of problems with the same settings. Each sheet shows a short worksheet code, and the same code with the same settings always gives the same sheet. The page address stores your settings, so a bookmarked or shared link opens the same view. “Reset settings” returns everything to the defaults.

What are the patterns in the 10 times table?

The 10 times table has several patterns that hold for every answer. Every answer ends in 0, and every answer is even because 10 is even. Each answer is 10 more than the one before, so the table is the same as counting by 10s: 10, 20, 30, 40, and so on.

Because 10 = 2 × 5, the 10 times table is the 5 times table doubled. For example, 5 × 7 = 35, and double 35 is 70, so 10 × 7 = 70.

How do I learn the 10 times table quickly?

Start with the facts you already know. 10 × 3 and 3 × 10 are the same fact, so every fact with a number under 10 already appears in a smaller table. If you know the tables from 1 to 9, only three facts are new: 10 × 10 = 100, 10 × 11 = 110 and 10 × 12 = 120.

Learn those three first, then practice the rest by counting by 10s. The learning view also shows repeated addition, such as 10 × 4 = 10 + 10 + 10 + 10 = 40, which connects the times table to adding. Say the answers aloud in order and check the highlighted ones digit each time.

Is there a trick for the 10 times table?

Yes. To multiply a whole number by 10, write it down and add a 0 at the end. Multiplying by 10 moves every digit one place to the left in the place value chart, and the ones place is filled with 0. So 10 × 7 = 70, 10 × 12 = 120, and 10 × 34 = 340.

Money uses the same idea. A dime is 10 cents, so 6 dimes are 10 × 6 = 60 cents.

Can I print the 10 times table or a 10 times table worksheet?

Yes. Click “Printable worksheet” and then “Print or save as PDF”. The browser’s print dialog can also save the sheet as a PDF. Choose US Letter or A4 under Paper.

When “Include answer key” is ticked, the answers print on their own separate page after the worksheet. If you print during a quiz, the printout is the worksheet for the same settings, not the quiz screen.

How do I make a 10 times table worksheet with missing numbers or division facts?

Open “Printable worksheet” and change “Worksheet type”. Missing factor gives problems such as __ × 10 = 60 (answer 6) and 10 × __ = 100 (answer 10). Division facts gives problems such as 60 ÷ 6 = __ (answer 10) and 100 ÷ 10 = __ (answer 5).

Then set “Problems” (12 to 40) and “Columns” (2 to 5). A sheet cannot repeat a problem. With both orders on there are 23 different 10 times table problems, and with both orders off there are 12. If you ask for more than that, the sheet shows the smaller number and says so.

Questions teachers and parents ask

Is there a free 10 times table quiz I can do on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Click "Practice on screen" to see one question at a time, such as 8 × 10 = ?. Type the answer in the labelled box and press Enter or Check, and the right answer appears straight away. On phones the number keypad is requested.

Is the 10 multiplication table the same as the 10 times table?

Yes. Both names refer to the facts 10 × 1 through 10 × 12. With "Include both orders" on, 10 × 4 and 4 × 10 both appear, and both equal 40.

Does the 10 times table stop at 10 × 12?

No. The default is × 12, but "Times table goes up to" also offers × 10, × 15 and × 20. The × 15 view ends with 10 × 15 = 150. The patterns in this guide hold for every limit.

What happens to missed questions in the quiz?

Within one round, every fact is asked once before any fact repeats, and the same fact is never asked twice in a row. The end screen lists the missed facts and offers "Practice the missed facts", "Play again" and a button that switches to the printable worksheet.

What is 10 × 12?

10 × 12 = 120. It is the last fact in the standard table, and 12 × 10 gives the same answer.

What is 10 × 10?

10 × 10 = 100. Every answer in the 10 times table is the other number with a 0 written after it, so 10 × 7 = 70 and 10 × 12 = 120.
