This free 2 times table tool shows the full table, a practice quiz and printable worksheets in one place. It runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to install, and no account or sign-up is needed. Nothing you enter is uploaded.
The learning view shows every fact from 2 × 1 to 2 × 12, and you can extend the table to × 10, × 12, × 15 or × 20. The practice quiz asks one question at a time, and the printable worksheet gives you paper practice. The same facts appear in a 2 multiplication table, so the tool covers both searches.
The page covers 2 × 1 to 2 × 12 by default, and Times table goes up to extends the table to × 15 or × 20.
How to use the 2 Times Table tool
- Open the page. The learning view shows the 2 times table from 2 × 1 to 2 × 12 by default.
- Choose how far the table runs with Times table goes up to: × 10, × 12 (default), × 15 or × 20.
- For a quiz, click Practice on screen. Set Question type, Number of questions and Countdown timer. Tick Check as soon as I have typed enough digits if you want answers checked automatically. Type each answer and press Enter or Check.
- For paper practice, click Printable worksheet. Choose a Worksheet type, then set Problems, Columns, Blanks and Paper.
- Tick or untick Include both orders and Include answer key.
- Click Print or save as PDF. The answer key prints on its own separate page.

The page address stores your settings, so a bookmarked or shared link opens the same view. Reset settings restores the defaults. Each sheet has a short worksheet code, and the same code with the same settings always gives the same sheet.
A simple routine for the 2 times table: read the table in the learning view, answer 20 questions in Practice on screen, then print a worksheet of missing factors such as 2 × __ = 14 and keep the answer key for checking.
What are the patterns in the 2 times table?
The answers in the 2 times table follow three patterns. Each answer is 2 more than the one before, so the table is the same as counting by 2s: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and so on. The ones digits go 2, 4, 6, 8, 0 and then repeat, so the pattern repeats every five answers. Answers 1 and 6 both end in 2, and answers 2 and 7 both end in 4.
Every answer is also even, because 2 is even. The answers are exactly the even numbers, so you can use this rule to check whether a product is in the 2 times table.
How do I learn the 2 times table quickly?
Start with the facts you do not yet know. 2 × 1 = 2 is the same fact as 1 × 2 = 2, so every fact with a number smaller than 2 is already in a smaller table. The new facts start at 2 × 2 = 4. If you know the 1 times table, you only need to learn 11 new facts, from 2 × 2 to 2 × 12.
Use repeated addition to check each fact. For example, 2 × 3 = 2 + 2 + 2 = 6, and 2 × 4 = 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8. The learning view shows these lines and a counting-by-2s row with +2 between each box. The ones digit of every answer is highlighted, so you can see the ending pattern while you read. When you know the facts, use the quiz to practice them in random order.
Why is every answer in the 2 times table even?
Multiplying by 2 means doubling, and a doubled whole number can always be split into two equal groups, which is what makes a number even. So every answer in the 2 times table is even, and the last digits repeat 2, 4, 6, 8, 0 all the way down the table: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24. Knowing your doubles, such as 6 + 6 = 12 and 9 + 9 = 18, gives you the whole table.
What do all the answers in the 2 times table add up to?
The twelve answers from 2 × 1 to 2 × 12 add up to 156, because 1 + 2 + … + 12 = 78 and each answer is 2 times one of those numbers. Halfway through the table, 2 × 6 = 12; doubling that gives 2 × 12 = 24.
Questions teachers and parents ask
Is there a trick for the 2 times table?
Yes. To multiply any number by 2, double it. For example, 2 × 7 is the same as 7 + 7 = 14. Since every answer is even and the ones digits repeat 2, 4, 6, 8, 0, you can also check an answer by looking at its last digit.
Can I print the 2 times table or a 2 times table worksheet?
You can print a worksheet. Click **Printable worksheet**, choose your settings, then click **Print or save as PDF**. Paper can be set to US Letter or A4, and the browser's print dialog can also save the sheet as a PDF. If you print during a quiz, the tool prints the worksheet with the same settings, not the quiz screen.
Is there a free 2 times table quiz I can do on a phone or tablet?
Yes. **Practice on screen** runs in the web browser, is free and needs no sign-up. It shows one question at a time, and on phones the number keypad is requested. Press **Skip** to count a question as missed, or **Finish now** to end the quiz early.
How do I make a 2 times table worksheet with missing numbers or division facts?
Click **Printable worksheet**, then choose a **Worksheet type**. Pick **Missing factor** for sheets like 2 × __ = 14, or **Division facts** for sheets like 14 ÷ 2 = __. Set **Blanks** to decide how many answers are left empty, then print the sheet.
How many different problems can a 2 times table worksheet have?
With **Include both orders** ticked, there are 23 different problems, because 2 × k and k × 2 are counted separately for k = 1 to 12. With it unticked, there are 12. A sheet cannot repeat a problem, so if you ask for more than the number available, the sheet shows the smaller number and says so.
Will the quiz ask the same question twice?
Within one round, every fact is asked once before any fact repeats, and the same fact is never asked twice in a row. At the end, the results list the facts you missed, with buttons to practice them, play again, or switch to the printable worksheet.
