Division: 6 to 12 Worksheets
What this skill is
Dividing by the larger single-digit numbers and by 10, 11, 12.
When it comes up: Late third grade.
The mistake to watch for
Guessing and checking one number at a time instead of recalling the related multiplication fact.
How to help
Keep the matching times table visible while practicing. The goal is to build the link, not to test recall of it.
Next: Multi-digit multiplication in fourth grade.
A worked example
Try 54 ÷ 6. Think: 6 times what makes 54? 6 × 9 = 54, so 54 ÷ 6 = 9.
