About K5Print

K5Print is a free library of printable K-5 practice sheets, plus reading and vocabulary pages built from open, reusable sources. Here is what we publish and why.

K5Print is a small, independent site for parents, teachers and homeschoolers who need something to print for a child in kindergarten through fifth grade. It has two kinds of pages, and we keep them apart on purpose.

Printable practice

The worksheets are practice sets for specific skills — adding within 20, short vowels, telling time to the hour, and so on — each with an answer key. Every set comes from a small program written for that skill, so we can check the output before it becomes a page: problems that are supposed to need regrouping must actually need it, no two problems in a set are the same, and the answer on the key is computed rather than typed. The short explanation under each skill, covering what it is and the mistake children most often make, is written by hand. Worksheets, answer keys and layouts are our own work. How we make these explains the process in more detail.

Worksheet tools

The worksheet tools make a fresh printable sheet each time: pick the settings, press “New worksheet”, print the page and the answer key. They run in your browser; what you type into them is not sent to us. Fonts and other open-source parts they use are listed on the credits page.

Learn and Words

The Learn section has more than 1,600 short articles on animals, space, the body, history, geography and more. They are adapted from Simple English Wikipedia and Wikijunior, which are written for younger readers and released under a licence that allows reuse. We do not rewrite their prose. We add context that can be checked: quick facts from Wikipedia infoboxes, scientific classification and names in other languages from Wikispecies, and nutrition numbers from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Each page says where its material came from.

The Words section is a children’s dictionary of more than 10,000 words that kids meet when they read the Learn articles. Definitions come from Wiktionary; example sentences come from Tatoeba, and related words come from Open English WordNet. A word gets a section only when a source has real material for it. If we cannot find a clean definition or a safe example sentence, we leave the section out instead of padding the page.

What we will not do

  • We do not use AI to write facts. Numbers, names and definitions come from sources we can name.
  • We do not copy content from sites that forbid commercial reuse, and we say plainly which sources we use. See Sources & licences and the credits page.
  • We do not ask children for any personal information. There are no accounts, comments or forms.

Who runs this

K5Print is owned and operated by SKYSEED TECH LLC. If you find a mistake, have a request, or want to use something in your classroom in a way the licences do not cover, write to us at jun@k5print.com. Our editorial policy says how we handle corrections.
